How does the Shoei RF-1400 fit compared to other helmets?
The RF-1400 uses Shoei's intermediate oval head shape, which works for most Western riders. If you have a long oval (front-to-back longer than side-to-side) you may want to try the Arai profile instead. If you sit between intermediate and round oval, the RF-1400 liner breaks in to fit within a few rides.
What safety certifications does the RF-1400 have?
DOT FMVSS 218 and ECE 22.06 — both the US road-legal standard and the current European safety standard. The CNS-1C fiberglass composite shell absorbs and disperses impact energy, and Shoei runs their own multi-impact validation beyond what Snell requires.
Can I remove the liner for washing?
Yes. The NeoTec Max-Dry liner, cheek pads, and neck roll all snap out cleanly. Hand-wash with mild soap and water, then air dry — do not tumble dry or machine wash, as that can deform the foam. A clean liner keeps the helmet fresh and prevents the moisture-wicking treatment from getting clogged.
Does the CWR-F2 face shield fog without a Pinlock?
Shoi built the CWR-F2 shield with built-in fog resistance, so most riders do not need a separate Pinlock insert for spring/summer/fall riding. If you regularly ride in cold humid conditions below freezing, the Pinlock EVO insert is still available and bolts onto the shield without tools.
What is the Shoei RF-1400 warranty?
